Making Comics: Scott McCloud

A fellow student suggested this book to me and from my five minute preview, it is quite amazing. I will also have to check out Scott McCloud's talk on ted.com about comics. Apparently it is worth the view.

I am in class number... um, not sure I remember. We are learning about brushes today. There are some things that are new, but for the most part, since I am an intensely curious person, most of the lesson was something that I had already investigated on my own. Photoshop is one of those beasts that can be taught, i.e. where the buttons are and what each tool does, but the art process is a different thing altogether. I think I learned more in a few minutes of watching ~yukino's walkthrough on her mermaid commission about the process. That felt more like what I needed. You know, a nudge to say, yeah girl, you ain't perfect, but you are on the right track.

I have to prepare the house for the kiddles that are haunting on by for tricks and treats this evening.
